Eiffage Secures 225MW Solar Construction Package in Morocco’s NOOR Atlas Rollout

French engineering and infrastructure group Eiffage SA has been awarded a major solar EPC contract in Morocco, reinforcing momentum behind the country’s large-scale renewable energy build-out.

The company confirmed that its energy subsidiary, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes, will deliver four photovoltaic projects with a combined installed capacity of 225MWp under Morocco’s NOOR Atlas programme. The developments are being executed for the Moroccan Agency for Sustainable Energy (MASEN), the state-backed agency leading Morocco’s renewable energy expansion strategy.

The award forms part of Morocco’s broader push to strengthen domestic generation capacity and reduce reliance on imported energy, with solar continuing to play a central role in the kingdom’s long-term energy transition agenda.

The portfolio includes the 121MWp NOOR Ain Beni Mathar plant, alongside the 42MWp NOOR Enjil facility, the 33MWp NOOR Boundnib development and the 29MWp NOOR Bouanane project. All four sites are located in the country’s north-eastern region, an area identified as strategically important for new renewable generation capacity.

Under the contract, Eiffage Énergie Systèmes will oversee the full project scope, including engineering design, procurement, civil works, equipment installation and commissioning. The company will also provide operations and maintenance services for seven years following project completion, signalling MASEN’s continued focus on long-term asset performance and operational reliability. Construction began earlier this year, with commercial delivery targeted for mid-2027.

The award adds to Eiffage’s expanding solar credentials across international markets. The French contractor says it has completed more than 130 ground-mounted photovoltaic facilities globally and remains one of Europe’s largest providers of turnkey solar infrastructure.

For Morocco, the NOOR Atlas programme marks another significant step in scaling utility-scale renewable generation and strengthening energy security as demand for cleaner, locally sourced electricity continues to accelerate across the region.
