Tetracore Expands Integrated Energy Footprint Across Africa

As African economies pursue industrial growth and greater energy security, integrated infrastructure developers are emerging as key enablers of the continent’s energy transition. Among them, Tetracore Energy Group is expanding its footprint across Nigeria and beyond through investments in gas infrastructure, power generation and industrial energy projects.

Founded in 2022, the company has adopted an integrated approach that combines natural gas distribution, gas-to-power development, compressed natural gas (CNG), liquefied natural gas (LNG) and decentralised energy solutions. Today, Tetracore manages a gas supply portfolio exceeding 120 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) and a power portfolio of more than 100 MW.

A cornerstone of its infrastructure network is the 40 MMscfd City Gate gas facility in Utesi, Edo State, which supplies natural gas to an industrial park hosting more than 18 manufacturing companies. The facility supports industries ranging from steel and aluminium production to ceramics and glass manufacturing, helping to improve industrial productivity through reliable energy supply.

The company has also expanded its presence in Nigeria’s growing CNG market. Following the commissioning of a 3.1 MMscfd CNG Mother Station in Ogun State in 2024, capacity was increased to 7.6 MMscfd by early 2026 to meet rising demand from industrial and transport customers. Tetracore’s network of Mobile Auto Refuelling Units further supports CNG adoption across key industrial corridors.

A strategic partnership with Dangote Group has strengthened the company’s position in the gas mobility sector, with Tetracore supplying up to 40,000 standard cubic metres of gas daily to support the conglomerate’s expanding fleet of CNG-powered trucks.
Beyond gas distribution, the company is developing a 10 MMscfd LNG facility in Ogun State, alongside plans for a 1,200-tonne-per-day ammonia-urea fertiliser plant and a 2,500-barrel-per-day gas-to-liquids facility. These projects are designed to support domestic manufacturing and strengthen industrial supply chains.

In the power sector, Tetracore is developing the 100 MW Atakobo Independent Power Project and has established partnerships with several Nigerian electricity distribution companies to facilitate the delivery of more than 200 MW of electricity capacity.

The company’s regional ambitions extend beyond Nigeria. It has secured access to the West African Gas Pipeline network, commissioned a virtual gas pipeline system in Ghana, signed an LNG infrastructure agreement in Equatorial Guinea and been prequalified to develop a 50 MW solar PV project in Zambia.

As Africa seeks to address energy access and industrialisation challenges, Tetracore is positioning itself as a regional energy infrastructure developer focused on strengthening energy security through integrated gas, power and industrial solutions.
