Olakunle Williams Driving Nigeria’s Integrated Gas and Power Expansion
Williams Olakunle, Founder & President of Tetracore Energy Group, has built one of the fastest-growing integrated gas companies in Nigeria, attributed to the execution and development of infrastructure. Within five years, Tetracore Energy Group has evolved into a high-value energy company with operations involving gas production, transportation, and electricity generation.
With experience in legal and taxation consultancy, Williams gained extensive knowledge in regulation and taxation systems before venturing into gas commercialisation. The insights have been crucial in developing a growth strategy for Tetracore Energy Group within Nigeria’s energy industry.
Today, the company manages a gas trading portfolio exceeding 90MMscfd, supporting over 300MW of embedded and industrial power generation. This supply is critical for manufacturing, reducing reliance on diesel and improving cost stability for industrial users.
Tetracore’s core strength lies in its integrated midstream–downstream model, covering sourcing, trading, compression, logistics, distribution, and power generation. This approach enhances reliability and allows for greater control over delivery.
The company has also expanded its compressed natural gas (CNG) footprint, deploying infrastructure across key industrial corridors. Facilities in Atakobo, Ibese—within the Dangote Group complex—and Ogere support growing demand from logistics operators and manufacturers, while additional capacity is under development in Benin.
A key asset is Tetracore’s 45MMscfd city gate system in Benin City, supplying a major industrial cluster and strengthening access to cleaner energy. The company has further extended its reach into Ghana, introducing virtual pipeline systems that enable flexible gas delivery without fixed infrastructure.
Looking ahead, Tetracore is advancing gas-to-liquids and ammonia-urea projects, signalling a move into value-added processing. It is also developing the Atakabo Independent Power Plant and a data centre in Ogun State, integrating energy supply with digital infrastructure.
Through continued investment in gas, power, and industrial assets, Williams is positioning Tetracore as a key player in West Africa’s evolving energy ecosystem.
