Enlit Africa 2026 Focuses on AI, Infrastructure Delivery and System Resilience
Enlit Africa 2026 will return to the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 19–21 May 2026 with a programme centred on infrastructure delivery, digitalisation and the growing link between energy and water security across Africa.
Built around the theme “Compounding impact: small changes, outsized outcomes,” the event aims to address the operational and financial realities shaping Africa’s power and water sectors.
The programme opens on 19 May with the Project & Investment Network Business Breakfast, where investors, utilities and developers will examine project bankability, procurement certainty and infrastructure financing trends. Economic commentator Bruce Whitfield will lead discussions alongside Goolam Ballim of Standard Bank Group.
Organisers say the session will focus on how financiers evaluate delivery risk and which measures improve confidence in African energy projects amid increasing geopolitical and economic pressure.
Attention then shifts to digital transformation during the keynote session titled Africa in the AI Age. The programme includes an address by Kgosientsho Ramokgopa and contributions from David Sun on AI, storage technologies and power-sector digitalisation.
A panel discussion featuring Carol Koech and other industry leaders will explore how utilities are integrating AI into grid management, operational efficiency and system planning. James Mackay will moderate a leadership discussion with Dan Marokane and senior executives.
On 20 May, the conference will turn to the energy–water nexus, examining how fragmented planning continues to constrain resilience across African infrastructure systems.
